I’m a new dad, and I’ve been trading for about 12 years while also building my career as a supply chain executive for some cool brands. That’s not a trading credential and I’m not going to pretend it is, it just means I have a real job, I check the market during the workday like most of you, and I built this for people in the same spot or for people who may want to spend a little less time on the screens.

I created this Substack & the flow app because I was tired spending hours each day manually filtering thru a flow service and not even being able to trust the data. I wanted the whole tape, cleaned up, with the junk removed and the sizes told straight, and then I wanted a system on top of it that could find the names worth caring about without me staring at a screen all day. The product is built for people who check their phone at 9:05 and want to know what mattered, and what are some high quality vetted setups for the week. This is not for you if you want 0DTE options, GEX levels, yada yada. The focus is highest quality setups for swing trades, confirmed with my proprietary indicators and options flows.

The tape, not the alerts

Most flow services run off a vendor’s alert feed, I did too, for a while. Then I went and measured it against the full options tape and found that the alert feed was showing roughly 7% of the institutional orders that actually printed. Seven. Everything else was invisible, including some of the biggest trades of the week. A $10 million put sale worked as 37 fills in three seconds never tripped a single alert rule.

So (I’m calling it GTD Flow) GTD Flow reads the raw tape, every fill, every exchange, all day. The engine I custom built clusters fills into orders, figures out which side of the market the trade came from, throws out the stuff that isn’t a real opinion (conversions, dividend arb, stock-tied overwrites, the 0DTE churn that looks huge and means nothing), and grades what’s left by whether it’s unusual for that name. Not unusual in dollars, unusual for that specific name. $500K in NVDA is a meaningless but $500K in a $2 billion mid-cap is somebody making a decision, and that’s the one I want you to see.

The result is a database that’s smaller than what you’d get elsewhere and a lot more honest. If a name shows up with 6 institutional orders this week, those are 6 real orders, sided, with the open interest receipt to prove the position actually got put on. You can click any of them and see exactly how it printed.

Levels

This is the part I’m proudest of. When a large player sells puts at a strike, that’s a price they’ve committed to buying stock at & when they buy calls at a strike, that’s a price they paid to be right about. GTD Flow autoplots those key trades on a chart. Floors, targets, ceilings, weighted by how much real money is behind them, and here’s the thing nobody else does: the lines fade as the positions close. If the put seller leaves, the floor goes with them. You’re looking at commitments that are still live, not a pile of stale open interest.

When price gets near one of those levels, you get told. That’s it. That’s the whole feature, and I think it’s the most useful thing on the site.

Setups

I have a proprietary signal I’ve traded for years (the green buy signal dots iykyk). It’s simple, and I’ve tested it across more than 11,000 historical occurrences on the S&P 500 so I know how it behaves and when it doesn’t. When it fires on a name, the engine checks what institutions are doing in the options, and if the money agrees with the signal, that name becomes a setup. Entry zone, the level where I’m wrong, a thesis window, and two or three ways to express it with options where your max loss is printed on the card. Not because I’m cautious, but because sometimes the bottom falls out and I don’t want anyone’s account going with it.

Some weeks there are three setups. Some weeks there are none, and the page will tell you why: ie: the signal fired on 6 names, 4 had already moved, 2 had flow going the other way.

The scoreboard

Everyone in this business posts their winners, I built something different. Every setup GTD Flow publishes gets written to a ledger the moment it goes out. Hashed, timestamped, can’t be edited, can’t be deleted, can’t be backfilled. Then every one of them gets scored when it resolves, win, loss, or scratch, and the running record sits on a public page that you can look at.

You’ll be able to see from when the setup is posted and entry signal price, the max runup from the signal, how many days it took to play out, and the worst drawdown you would have taken prior to run up.

I’ll be posting all of my trades, positions, and entries/exits in the discord & substack chat on plays I take but in case I don’t take a trade posted, the ledger will still track those to completion.

Who this is for

  • Swing traders holding two weeks to three months.

  • People who want to know what big money is doing without making it a second job.

  • If you want 1000 raw alerts a day, there are cheaper firehoses and you should buy one of those.

  • If you want to day trade sweeps, this will be too slow for you.

  • If you want a handful of graded, flow-backed setups a week, a chart that shows you where the institutions have drawn their lines, and a track record you can check instead of take on faith, this is the one I built for myself first.

There’s a Discord which you’ll get access to, it’s small and personal with folks who I’ve been trading with for years now and I kind of like it that way for now. The people in there are great traders and we like to make it a fun environment for everyone, no toxicity and I expect it to stay that way.

I’m not a full-time trader with a media team. I’m a new dad with a good full time career who built the tool he wanted, and the tool happens to be better than what the full-timers are selling because I was willing to measure the parts that didn’t work and cut them. I plan on getting everyone’s feedback and building this out further based on what you guys think would be valuable + have plans on buying some expensive data if the demand is there for this!
